This is another awesome impression from Tina Fey. Sadly, much of the answers are almost verbatim. The thing that strikes me after thinking about this a bit is that Palin has been placed in a pretty unfortunate position. She’s clearly unqualified and is being scorned by all sides, which must be tough for her and her family.
Frankly, McCain is the one to blame for yet another cynical...

This would be funny if it weren’t so frightening.

Has everyone lost their minds?
Sarah Palin apparently “charmed World leaders” recently. This report of her meeting with Pakistan’s new Prime Minister seems too ridiculous to be true. He’ll be less flirty when he’s getting nuked.
Pakistan President Asif Ali Zardari expressed great joy in meeting her during the short photo session at the start of their meeting that was viewed by reporters and...

Palin = Bush
The NYT has an in-depth piece on Palin’s habit of hiring unqualified friends and attacking enemies.
“Gov. Sarah Palin lives by the maxim that all politics is local, not to mention personal.
So when there was a vacancy at the top of the State Division of Agriculture, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate...
Puffeney Chardonnay 2004
I’d said a while back that I’d say more about a great wine I had at Stone Barns. The Puffeney Chardonnay is a pretty idiosyncratic wine. It has a distinct, almost oxidized nose, with toasted nuts, fruits and fresh acidity on the finish. It’s not great for sipping, but is fabulous with the food, and is memorable regardless of how you feel about it.
It’s from the Jura...
Sharing Travel Experiences/Recommendations
I was thinking about writing about what we enjoyed during our trip to Chicago but held off because I think it’d be great if we could do something collaborative instead. All of us travel to places and form opinions that it’d be great if we could share easily. City of Sound talks about how they built a collaborative annotated map of modernism in Australia. What if we did something...

Jeff Zeeman's Fantastic Commentary on the Palin...
As of two years ago, I was more qualified to be Vice President than she was. Seriously. I had half as many constituents as student government president at age 20 as she did at that time, and I have more constituents now as President of my civic association. While I am not short on self confidence, the idea that, after a little over year as governor of a small state whose concerns are about as...
Breaststrokers galore
This is one of those phrases from the Olympics that never fails to amuse me. Some good ones:
1) “Australian breaststroker Leisel Jones”
2) ”I believe I’m the best breaststroker in the world,” Moses said.
3) “Tonight, by almost beating one of the world’s best breaststrokers, Phelps has served notice”
